Ми використовуємо непряму мову, коли потрібно передати висловлювання автора.

Say / Tell
При переході від автора до непрямої мови ми вживаємо дієслова Say / Tell (said / told). Tell завжди вживається із займенником або іменем, Say може вживатися із займенником або без займенника.
Tom: "I am at the university" - Tom said that he was at the university.
Tina to me: "I am at school" - Tina told me that she was at school. / Tina said to me that she was at school.
Перетворюючи пряму мову на напряму, треба пам’ятати про заміну деяких слів на інші:
