Do you have/Have you had any of these problems with your neighbours? Чи маєш ти\Чи були в тебе колись ці проблеми з сусідами? ( В теперішньому, або в минулому).

If so, what happened? Якщо так, що сталося?

Зверни увагу! Якщо ситуація мала місце в минулому - використай минулий час.

1. leave rubbish outside their house — залишати сміття біля свого будинку

2. children make a lot of noise / damage property — діти створюють багато шуму / пошкоджують майно

3. play loud music — слухати гучну музику (грати гучну музику)

4. throw litter onto your property — кидати сміття на вашу територію (на ваше подвір'я/власність)

5. let their dog bark all day and night — дозволяти своїй собаці гавкати цілий день і ніч

6. park in front of your driveway — паркуватися навпроти вашого в'їзду до гаража (під'їзної доріжки)

leave - left , make - made, play - played, throw - threw, let -let, park -parked

Come up with two sentences in the Present Simple and two in the Past Simple.

Склади два речення в теперішньому часі і 2 речення у минулому часі, використовуючи слова та умову Завдання 1.

Our neighbour lets his dog bark all day and night. Наш сусід дозволяє своїй собаці гавкати увесь день і всю ніч.

lets - коли дієслово має закінчення S - це теперішній час, регулярна дія.

We complained once, but nothing has changed. Ми жалілися, але нічого не змінилося.

complained - коли дієслово має закінчення ED - це минулий час.

has changed - коли дія виражена формулою have\has + дієслово в минулому часі ( в даному випадку закінчення ed) - це Present Perfect - дія в минулому з результатом ЗАРАЗ.

• Could I talk to you for a minute?

  • Чи можу я поговорити з вами хвилиночку? / У вас є хвилинка?

• What can I do for you?

  • Чим я можу вам допомогти? / Що сталося?

• I’m afraid I have a complaint.

  • Боюсь, у мене є скарга. / На жаль, я маю скаргу.

• Oh, I’m really sorry about that.

  • Ой, мені дуже прикро через це. / Вибачте, будь ласка.

• I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.

  • Я подбаю про те, щоб це більше не повторилося.

• Thanks, I’d really appreciate that.

  • Дякую, я б дуже це цінував(-ла).

Alan: Excuse me. I don’t think we’ve met yet. I’m Alan Jones. I’ve just moved in next door.

Ray: Pleased to meet you, Alan. I’m Ray Newton.

Alan: Pleased to meet you, Ray. Could I talk to you for a minute?

Ray: Sure. What can I do for you?

Alan: Well, I’m afraid I have a complaint. It’s just that you’ve been playing your music really loud. My roommates and I are students, and we just can’t study with so much noise.

Ray: Oh, I’m really sorry about that. I didn’t realise it was bothering anyone.

Alan: That’s OK. It’s just that we have exams in a few weeks ...

Ray: I understand. Don’t worry. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Alan: Thanks – I’d really appreciate that.

Ray: You’re welcome. And sorry again.

Alan: Don’t worry about it. Have a nice day.

Linking sounds - з’єднувальні звуки.

In spoken English, words may be linked (з'єднані) together when one word ends with a consonant sound and the next word begins with a vowel. The consonant is pronounced at the beginning of the next syllable.

• consonant — приголосний (звук) або приголосна (буква)

• vowel — голосний (звук) або голосна (буква)

Imagine you want to complain to your neighbour about one of the problems in Ex. 1. Use the sentences from Ex. 2a to act out your dialogue. Follow the plan. Уявіть, що ви хочете пожалітися сусіду на одну з проблем. Використайте речення, щоб розіграти діалог. Слідуйте поданому плану.
