Past Continuous

Past Continuous вживаємо для опису тривалої дії в минулому.

Past Continuous утворюється за допомогою дієслова was / wereта основного дієслова із закінченням -ing.

Past Continuous – Past Simple

Якщо в одному реченні розповідають про дві дії, треба зрощумвти, які вони за тривалістю:

для позначення довгої, тривалої дії вживаємо Past Continuous;

для позначення короткої, одномоментної дії, яка перервала довгу - вживаємо Past Simple:

I was doing my homework when mum came home.
