Grammar. Gerund (V+ing) or To-Infinitive

Якщо в реченні поруч стоять два дієслова (Verbs), від першого дієслова залежить, в яку форму треба поставити наступне: у форму інфінітива з чаською to (To-Infinitive) або у форму герундія (Gerund - дієслово із закінченням -ing):

For example:

I keep working at the university.

Tom promised to do the project.

Exercise 1

Write verb in the correct form, use -ing or to-infinitive.

Mum loves … (play) tennis.

Daniella decided … (read) the book about the Polynesia Islands.

Sue helps me … (work) in the garden.

Martha learns … (speak) Spanish.

My parents decided … (travel) to Hawaii next summer.

Peter prefers … (cook) pizza.

John loves … (go) fishing to the river.

My grandparents want … (travel) to the USA next summer.

Jane plans … (do) the Biology project tomorrow.

Rosa loves … (do) athletics.
