Grammar. Gerund (V+ing) or To-Infinitive

Якщо в реченні поруч стоять два дієслова (Verbs), від першого дієслова залежить, в яку форму треба поставити наступне: у форму інфінітива з чаською to (To-Infinitive) або у форму герундія (Gerund - дієслово із закінченням -ing):

For example:

I keep working at the university.

Tom promised to do the project.

Exercise 1

Write verb in the correct form, use -ing or to-infinitive.

Thomas learns … (drive) a car.

Jane finished … (washing) her clothes at 7 o’clock.

Susan keeps … (help) her parents every evening.

Tim likes … (ski) and … (sledge) in winter. 

Tina wants … (travel) to Dubai.

Jim suggested … (travel) to the USA in summer.

Victoria enjoys … (go) camping and … (sail) at the river.

Peter started … (learn) to swim last summer.

Mr Green wants … (go) fishing with his brother.

Kate continues … (study) Japanese.
