Below there is a list of expressions that are often used in academic writing. Divide these expressions into eight categories:
expressions used to state your own position on a subject or topic, expressions used to present your own point of view, expressions used to support your view and add more information, expressions used to state the view of another person on a subject or topic, expressions used to agree with the views of others, expressions used to disagree with the views of others, expressions used to indicate a lack of knowledge of a particular topic or subject, expressions used to draw a conclusion (from your research or others’ work).
