з можливими проявами наслідків травми, розуміння складної поведінки учнів під
час війни, а також особливі методичні підходи у викладанні задля створення

About “Teaching and Learning in Difficult Times”
The British Council course Teaching and
Learning in Difficult Times (TLDT) has three main
areas of focus, namely:
● Module 1: How to create a trauma-
sensitive learning environment;
● Module 2: How to manage challenging
behaviours;
● Module 3: How to make classrooms a
safer space for learners.
Module 1: Understanding the impact of trauma and its effects in the classroom
The aim of this module is to introduce participants to the effects of trauma on learning
and behaviour in the classroom. It is aimed at providing them with a general
introduction to and understanding of the topic as well as some specific teaching
strategies for creating physical and emotional safety for the learners in their
classrooms.
Module 2: Dealing with very challenging behaviour
The aim of this module is to learn how to learn how to deal with behaviour which
challenges participants in the classroom, and to understand the links between this
challenging behaviour and a learner’s experience of trauma. The module explores
models of the brain which help us to understand behaviour and links this to developing strategies for use in the classroom.
Module 3: Making the classroom a safe space
The aim of this module is to learn how to make the classrooms a safe space for
learners.
● Explain what the main factors of a safe classroom are;
● Reflect on their own classrooms and their own practices so they can make
necessary changes to make them safer;
● Apply practical strategies within their classrooms to make them safer spaces;
● Evaluate whether their learners feel safe within their classrooms.
It was a great experience for me!
